1980年発売のシングル曲であり、アルバム「PLEASE」収録曲です。
作曲者のクレジットのG1238471は、キーボードロボットのゴンタ2号ことG2みたいですね。9thの印象的なフレーズが、G2のアイディアなんだとか。

このトランジスタ・ラジオは、電気グルーヴや石田長生、山崎まさよしも取り上げている楽曲です。
RCサクセションはC#（D♭）で演奏していますが、私はAのKeyで歌っています。
原曲ではギターソロはありませんが、あえて加えてみました。
ギターソロのフレーズは、Eのペンタトニック+αとディミニッシュ、E♭のペンタトニック+αで構成しています。

個人的には演奏するたびに”アガる”楽曲のひとつです。
歌詞のフレーズごとの間が多いところも、今どきの楽曲と大きく異なりますよね。
私の人生に多大な影響を与えた（及ぼした？）「トランジスタ・ラジオ」。
RCサクセションに出会ったおかげで、音楽の好みがRockやRock’Roll、R&BやBlues、JazzやReggaeへと広がっていきました。これホント。

Lyrics and composition: Kiyoshiro Imawano, G1238471

This is a single released in 1980, and is included in the album “PLEASE”.

The composer credit, G1238471, seems to be G2, also known as Gonta No. 2, the keyboard robot. Apparently the memorable phrase in the 9th song was G2’s idea.

This Transistor Radio is also featured by Denki Groove, Osamu Ishida, and Masayoshi Yamazaki.

RC Succession plays it in C# (D♭), but I sing it in the key of A.

There is no guitar solo in the original song, but I added one anyway.

The guitar solo phrase is composed of E pentatonic + α and diminished, and E♭ pentatonic + α.

Personally, this is one of those songs that gets me excited every time it’s played.
The fact that there are long pauses between each phrase in the lyrics is also very different from modern songs.
“Transistor Radio” had a huge impact on my life.
Thanks to discovering RC Succession, my musical tastes have expanded to include Rock and Rock’Roll, R&B and Blues, Jazz and Reggae. Really.
