Arpeggio is a type of guitar chord backing.

Basically, all you have to do is press down the chord and play in order starting from the lowest string!

Arpeggios are especially useful for expressing ballad songs, so it’s worth remembering them.

Here we will introduce arpeggios using a pick.


Arpeggio pattern using a pick①

First of all, this is a pattern where you play the strings in order starting from the lowest string.

The chords are G, Em, C and D.

The trick is to keep the note extended after playing.

The code uses Cadd9 and Dadd9, Fmaj7 (13) and G6.

When it comes to ballad songs, this is the pattern.

This is an arpeggio pattern inspired by a piano.

The 2nd and 1st strings are played at the same time as the 6th, 5th, and 4th strings.

Play the 2nd string with your middle finger and the 1st string with your ring finger.

The chord progression is also G-Em-C-D.

Once you have mastered this pattern, it will be easier to apply it, so be sure to memorize it.
