Capo tasto is a tool that allows you to easily transpose.

To explain the capo tasto simply, it can be said to be a substitute for the index finger that press down all the strings on a barre chord such as F.

What is capo tasto?

For barre chords such as F, press down all strings with your index finger.

For example, when you put a capo on the 2nd fret, it will be converted to the following chord progression.

G-Em-C-D

⇒A-F#m-D-E

C-Am-Dm7-G

⇒D-Bm-Em7-A

 
If the capo is on the 4th fret, it is as follows.

G-Em-C-D

⇒B-G#m-E-F#

C-Am-Dm7-G

⇒E-C#m-F#m7-B

The benefit is that the strain on your left hand is eased because you don’t have to play the barre chord as often.
