Many of the people reading this column probably have a goal of learning how to sing while playing the guitar.

First, master abdominal breathing
Abdominal breathing is something that singers and players of wind instruments must master.
It can be said to be an essential skill for announcer’s, voice actors, and stage actors.
Abdominal breathing is a breathing technique in which you inhale by expanding your stomach, then slowly exhale by contracting your stomach.
Try breathing in for 3 seconds and exhaling for 10 seconds, then repeat.
You may find it easier to get the hang of it if you start by lying on your back.
If you master abdominal breathing, singing for long periods of time is no longer a dream.
You may find it easier to relax if you incorporate abdominal breathing into your daily life.
How to sing with abdominal breathing
The basic way to sing with abdominal breathing is to vocalize while exhaling.
It seems to have a similar nuance to lifting the tighten abdominal muscles upwards.
Be conscious of making the sound resonate with your body.
Training for correct pitch①
It is important to sing in the correct pitch.
Coupled with the spread of karaoke, the ears of those who listen to songs may be getting tougher.
If the pitch is uncertain, the sound will be perceived as unpleasant.
The worst situation awaits you is that you won’t even be listened to your song.
Here we will introduce pitch training using the guitar.
Let’s say it out loud in the following order: 1st degree⇒3rd degree ⇒5th degree⇒3rd degree⇒1st degree.
It feels like aaaaah,aaaaah,aaaaah.

The treble range tends to be relatively wide.
It is important to practice repeatedly.

As your singing range expands, the songs you compose will also change.
Even if you don’t sing it yourself at a live performance, you should be able to understand the singer’s feelings by actually singing it.
